Hey everyone. The next bit is a teaser from the Patreon exclusive episode, that I created using the leftover audio from the interview that I had with Ben Ark or BTC socialist on Twitter. So I've just taken parts of the discussion that we had, sort of, before and after the interview and made a, a Patreon exclusive version of it since a lot of it was pretty funny, honestly, and, pretty insightful. So if you like what you hear next, then consider becoming a patron on patreon.com. Just look up The Blockchain Socialists and you can become a patron for for just a couple bucks a month. And never miss out on Patreon exclusive content.

Yeah. It's cool. I got some questions to ask you, actually. So, because you're gonna edit this anyway, aren't you? So we can kinda, like if you've if you got time Cut. Yeah. That's the end of that. So so because you you so you talk about, like, you talk about sort of cryptocurrencies and blockchain and stuff. So what what projects are you interested in?

1:12 – 1:49
I'm interested, I mean, in a in a couple. I mean, for me, I got more into, crypto during, with the with Ethereum. And for me, the the the only idea that I had when I was younger about Bitcoin was, like like, the only people I knew who used it were to buy drugs, online and, like, get it sent to their house. I started reading more about, Ethereum, and Ethereum really just caught my eye because of the idea of smart contracts and, and DAOs. And I thought that really had, like, a pretty strong potential for

for a left wing use case. That's when I started really getting into it. It's a shame that the the the DAO stuff kind of I mean, it fell so miserably. You know? Yeah. So it's such a catastrophic failure, wasn't it? Because clearly, like, that technology has use.

Yeah. I I mean, I sort of I came into it sort of, like, right after it happened, so I didn't get the, like, you know, I didn't have my money stolen or anything like that. But, yeah, so I mean, I thought Ethereum does have use cases if if used correctly, especially in the case of DAOs. So I'm I'm I'm interested I'm interested in Ethereum, and it's probably the one that I know the most about. And then, I mean, there's some projects, on Ethereum that are specifically sort of, like, post capitalist, sort of or is how they how they message themselves. Like, I don't know if you've heard of, like, the common stack. I did I did it with I did an interview with the guy one of the guys who runs that project. It's on my site. It's, just but it's an article. Yeah. But they're I mean, they're looking into how to use smart contracts in Ethereum for the management of commons or common resources. I think it's pretty interesting. And there are a lot of there are, like, several probably, like, four other projects that are doing similar types of things, that I think are interesting. I don't think I think a lot of these guys are maybe a little bit left leaning or or even maybe very libertarian. But they're I think they're they're looking for, like, something beyond capitalism, and they're I'm so I'm interested in them because I want to, like, influence them in a way to tell them you're looking for socialism.

3:39 – 3:45
Like, you know, like Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I see. The type of projects I have. So they kind of go beyond. Yeah.

3:46 – 4:16
Yeah. Like like, they think they can they think that there's some sort of, like, economic system they can make up on their own that's not like any other ever made before. And I think that's Yeah. If you I think that makes them open enough to new ideas, and they at the same time, they're also skeptical enough of at least, you know, modern capitalism. So they, they would they're they're open to things that I have to say as well. At least at least that's that's how I found the instinct that I did with the guy.
