Hi. It's Ben Brown. We'll be back next week with a new episode, but want to follow-up quickly on last week's episode about the problems that police departments are having in recruiting new qualified officers. We got some great feedback on that, including from police and municipal officials who said they're seeing the same thing where they live. These are all in different parts of the country. They're saying they're having a hard time selling the profession to applicants and also retaining the officers they do hire. Remember, we did talk with the police agency on the last episode that made some creative changes in their hiring process in a way that's actually helped. And we kind of built that episode around that. But funny enough, roughly at the same time we put out that episode, the New Zealand police put out a recruitment video that's like nothing I've ever seen in terms of material from a public agency. It's more like a John Woo film or like Michael Bay, but definitely better. We want New Zealand to be the safest country in the world, but we can't do it without your help. You're the only place I'm looking for, new recruits who can make a real difference. Those who care about others and their communities. Alright. So playing an audio clip does it zero justice. You have to see it. You have to watch this video. It's hilarious. The stunts are ridiculous. Gotta emphasize that this wasn't just some camcorder thing. It clearly had a sizable budget, you know, aerial shots and swooping camera work and everything that would lead you to believe that a large crew of professionals put this together. That looks like something you'd see in the theaters. And check this out. According to Stuff, which is a New Zealand news website, the police there have actually added additional recruitment staffers to handle the number of people who responded to that video. And I'm talking job applicants. Big response. Stuff just reported today as I record this, December 4, that Kiwis had created 1,500 new job profiles within the week. 373 people applied for the job directly. These numbers are going up. In response to this fun, well produced recruitment video. That video got nearly 6,000,000 views on the initial Facebook posts, according to the media down there.
